Full Itinerary
Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Mingalaba! Welcome to Yangon – Myanmar!
Today, you will meet your guide and driver at the airport, then they will escort you to hotel for check-in. Enjoy your leisure time at the hotel.
Stay overnight in Yangon, Myanmar.
Day 2: Yangon City Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, you are welcomed to an amazing Yangon city tour. At first, stroll along the downtown Yangon where is home to the largest collection if colonial architecture in Southeast Asia.
Stop at Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, one of the enormous Reclining Buddha Image with 65 meter in length and 16 meters high. Wonder around, enjoy the peaceful aura. We next visit the 2000-year-old Sule Pagoda where has remained its original charm and become the must-visit site in Yangon.
After lunch, visit the vibrant Bogyoke market, the largest bazaar in Yangon with an array of food, clothes, gems. (This market is closed on Monday and gazette holiday).
Continue to the National Museum to explore the finest Burmese art and culture including the Golden Lion Throne, Shwedagon Pagoda. The last highlight of today is Karaweik Hall, also known as Karaweik Palace, one of the must-see destinations in Yangon.
Back in the hotel for overnight accommodation in Yangon.
Day 3: Bagan – Pakkoku
After breakfast at the hotel, the guide will escort you to the airport for a flight to Bagan. There is a local guide waiting to take you to the cruise.
Disembark the Anawrahta cruise, we berthed at the quay of Bagan. You will be welcomed by the staff offering some refreshments for the next days on river cruise.
Enjoy a savor lunch while sailing towards Pakkoku, an old trading town on the western side of Ayeyarwady.
We continue to the Shwegu Temple, featuring the incredible and intricate carvings made from Yamanei wood. The temple is also home to the unique Buddha image seated on a lotus throne. Then back on board Anawrahta continues the journey northwards on the Ayeyervady.
In the evening, immerse in the golden light at the Kipling’s Bar, then move to Hintha Hall for a special dinner. Overnight in Pakkoku.
Day 4: Pakkoku – Yanderbo
In the morning, participate in a yoga session on the sun deck before a visit to Yanderbo. Enjoy breakfast whilst the ship passes the confluence of the Ayeyarwady and its greatest tributary, Chindwin River.
Visit the tranquil riverside village of Yanderbo dating back to 1826 when the King of Ava signed the Treaty of Yanderbo. Stroll along the village, witness the techniques and skills to produce many pots and utensils.
Your cruise ship continues the journey northwards Gaze on the river banks of the eternal stream from the bench on the sundeck or a spa treatment. In the afternoon, we learn more about some traditions of Burma as Longyi and Thanaka. Have dinner at the Hintha Hall.
Day 5: Pakokku – Bagan
Start your day by a yoga class, then have breakfast while sailing through some southwards before reaches Pakkoku, an old trading town on the western riverbank of Ayeyarwady.
The guide will lead you to visit some of the small industries in this area, such as cheroot-rolling factory, Burmese slippers. Beside that, Pakokku is also famous for the production of Tobacco, and it is the right place if you want to by Burmese cigars.
Continue your tour to Shwegu Temple, where has the incredible and intricate carvings from the rare Yamanei wood. Back on the board at lunchtime and continues the journey southwards and visit the highlight of Bagan. Your ship will moor at Bagan at the early afternoon.
In the afternoon, take a visit to the most remarkable temple in the city, like Ananda Temple or Sulamani Pagoda. After that, return to the boat for dinner while watching the traditional Bagan dance at Mandalay Lounge.
Day 6: Bagan
After breakfast on boat, we disembark Anawrahta river cruise and say good-bye to the crew, then your tour guide will pick up you then transfer to hotel. Enjoy free time rest of the day
Day 7: Bagan Temple Tour
Today begins with a visit to Nyang U Market that allows tourists to explore Burmese culture through the local life of people living here. Then, head to Shwezigon Pagoda, one of the most significant religious architecture in Burma.
Continue to Khay Min Ga Temple to see the panoramic views of plentiful monuments. The next place is Ananda Temple, a masterpiece combining the mixing architectural styles of Myanmar and India. The temple is house to four standing Buddhas, each faces a distinct direction.
In the afternoon, take a look at a local lacquerware workshop, where you can find out more about traditional Burmese techniques of craftsmen in this peaceful land. Your today cannot complete without a visit to the renowned temples in Bagan as Dhammayangyi Temple, Htilominlo Temple or Sularmuni Temple, which all date back to the 12th century. Leave these temples behind, we head to Shwesandaw Pagoda to get the stunning sunset scene.
Transfer to the hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day 8: Bagan & Villages
The second day in the city of Bagan gives us a great overview of history, culture as well as local lifestyles here. In the afternoon, take a boat trip to get deeper in the local village in Bagan.
Enjoy the fabulous views on the open-deck while cruise down the Irrawaddy River to Shwezigon Pagoda. There is a private Myanmar boat tour on the river during sunset will give you a marvelous scene.
Transfer back to the hotel.
Day 9: Goodbye Myanmar
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be free until the driver comes to pick & transfer you to the airport. Your Myanmar Irrawaddy River Cruise ends here.
